Chocolate Bunny Mould

I've had this bunny mould for a long time.  My father in law gave it to us but I'm not sure where it came from.  I would love to have more.

Cleaning

I talked about cleaning house in my last post. Here are a couple of my new favorite cleaning products.

- Invisible Glass cleans windows and mirrors with no streaking.  I'll probably never use Winde another product again.

- Pledge Duster.  Makes dusting quick and easy and allows you to reach tight spaces.

And no I am not getting paid for this advertisement.  Just wanted to share.

Oh yea, almost forgot this one:

Not good for tile and grout, but works great on laminate floors.

Deal Breaker

All has been pretty quite around the home front resulting in all being pretty quite around the blog front.

Why haven't I been painting furniture you ask?  OK.   I'll tell you why.

Putting everything back in order after having new carpet installed in two bedrooms proved to be quite the task.  I had the closet in my daughter's bedroom filled to the brim and because she was moving back home I had to find a new home for all its contents.  This resulted in me cleaning out other closets to make room for everything.  This was after throwing away two very large trash bags full and giving four more of the same size to Goodwill.  This is an indication of just how much stuff I had stashed in there.  I now stand assured that the crew from the Hoarders show will not be showing up at my house any time soon.

In addition to the closet clean outs I've been doing some other general cleaning.  And not one day before it needed it.  Things had gotten pretty grungy at this address.  Cleaning is not a task I enjoy any more (I use to, believe it or not), but I still LOVE a clean house!!

So...while enjoying a little organization and the smell of pine-sol I've been trying to brace myself for what is ahead in the way of home DIY projects which in our case will be the removal of more carpet and installing laminate flooring; as well as; creating an opening between the family room and dining room.  I am anxious to begin and at the same  time dreading it.  We've got a pretty jam packed summer with a birthday trip planned for April, a graduation trip planned for May, and a wedding trip planned for June so not sure when WE (insert, "have you got a mouse in your pocket?" coming from the other member of our little DIY club) will begin this venture.  My goal is for it to be finished around October, just in time to decorate for the holidays.  Maybe July or August will be a good time to start since the temperature during these months is usually too hot for us to enjoy doing anything else.

I still have several (too many in fact) smaller projects waiting for me to tackle.  Maybe I'll get one or two knocked out this weekend!  I made a promise to myself NOT to bring anything else home that needed to be painted, repaired, or re-upholstered until I finish everything I already have.  I broke my own promise yesterday.  I think it's a sickness.  I just can't help myself.  I need to stay away from stores. I cannot be trusted.

I went to Tuesday Mornings and found a Bergere chair for a steal.  Why so cheap I asked.  The leg was broken that was why!

Who loaded it up? Who knows someone that can fix it?  Who has been wanting a chair like this forever but knew they were expensive?    Who now has another project to add to their already growing list?  Who thinks it may just look better painted? Who just couldn't pass up this DEAL BREAKER?  Who needs their head examined?  Yes, that would be MOI!

In Loving Memory

Anndreia Lawrence
1961-2012

Ron and Anndreia Lawrence are some dear old friends.  Our paths crossed many many years ago and we immediately bonded.  Some of our fondess memories include time spent with this couple.  Anndreia fought a five year battle with cancer, one that she lost on Wednesday, February 29.

We listened this morning as her father-in-law and brother-in-law painted a wonderful and accurate
picture of her life with their words of attribution.
Inside and out she was a beautiful and courageous person.
She touched the souls of those who knew her.
She will be missed.

This morning, before the funeral, B.J. and I went to a walking trail near our house.  I walked and he took pictures.  After we got home and  looked over some of the shots he took, we couldn't help but to be reminded of the events of this weekend.

BROKEN

As is her family right now.  Their wife, mom, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt...is no longer with them and their world has been turned upside down.
They have been left with a void that only God can fill.

RAINDROPS

Remind us of the many tears that have been shed.

CARDINAL

TAKING FLIGHT

As did Anndreia as she soared into Heaven on Wednesday.

NEW BUDS

Reminding us that Spring is just around the corner!
However, "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:
but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
Isaiah 40:8
With His promise to us of eternal life
we will see you again one day soon, sweet Anndreia.
