Old Montreal did not disappoint! I literally could not take in all the architecture but here are just a few pics from an afternoon outing.

Architecturally Speaking
I love old buildings!! In the six years that B.J. worked in New Orleans I never grew tired of riding around looking at all the buildings dripping with architectural elements. I would always wonder if the locals took them for granted. It made me sad to think they could because I would like to hope I never would!
Old Montreal did not disappoint! I literally could not take in all the architecture but here are just a few pics from an afternoon outing.

A Taste
Although it was a short trip and a business one at that, B.J. and I managed to get a big taste of Old Montreal, Canada.
And it was scrumptious!
We stayed here in this luxury hotel in the heart of the city, St. Sulpice.
Walked through this cathedral.
Ate a steak at this restaurant, Gibby's.
And a fabulous meal at this one.
Shopped.
Walked and walked admiring the sights and sounds of this beautiful city, trying to take it all in.
The icing on the cake.

A highlight of the trip was meeting a blogger I have been following for a long time, Suzan Sweatman and her husband, John, who live in Montreal. Our trip would not have been the same without our visit with them! Truly!

Bargains or NOT!
The stories you are about to hear are true, only the amounts have been changed to protect the innocent, the innocent being me!
Sometimes when I think I am getting a bargain, it turns out to not be such a great bargain after all! Can anyone relate?
My 5 chairs for the low low price of $100.00.
NOT!
Annie Sloan Paint
New Fabric and cording
Labor for upholstering
Approximately $400.00 for 5 chairs
My two pillows from eBay for the low low price of $20.00 each.
NOT!
Cases! Not pillows! My bad!
Shipping
Inserts
Approximately $70.00 for two pillows much smaller than I thought!
Note to self: read description thoroughly before ordering!
Will I allow these two purchase "fails" to deter my bargain hunting?
NOT!

Wood, Metal, & Stone
WOOD My latest box. It is actually leather covered and was only $8.00. I found a new antique store yesterday with some neat things and very reasonable.
